On the first day of 2025, Netflix gave its viewers a gift in the form of a 5-episode detective series Missing You, which instantly broke into the top and took first place. Almost 22 million users watched it in one week.

The plot centers on detective Kat Donovan, who has a lot of time for work and not enough for her personal life. The woman has experienced two shocks in her life: the murder of her father and the disappearance of her fiancé, whom she still can't get out of her head.

On the advice of her friend, the policewoman registers on a dating site, where she suddenly comes across the profile of her ex. Surprised, she writes to her ex-fiancé, but he replies that they are not allowed to communicate and blocks the woman.

Along with this shock, Kat learns that the real killer of her father is not in prison but is walking free, because a man who was not involved in the tragedy took the blame. Another topic that occupies the detective's thoughts is the disappearance of a woman, which she will have to deal with.

While investigating all three cases, she unexpectedly finds threads that connect them. At the same time, she realizes that everyone around her is lying to her, and that one person is involved in the disappearances and murders.

Missing You is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by American writer Harlan Coben. This is not his first book to become the basis for Netflix series.
