Messi ends his career, naming his last club

Legendary Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has announced that Inter Miami will be his last club. The 36-year-old striker has been playing in the United States since 2023.

"I love playing football, I enjoy everything much more because I am aware that every time there's less and less," insider Fabrizio Romano quoted the Argentine national team captain as saying.

Messi joined Inter Miami on July 15, 2023. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner signed a contract with the American team with a salary of $54 million for two seasons with possible bonuses of $8 million.

Since then, he has played 29 matches in all competitions, scoring 25 goals and making 16 assists.

Last December, Messi presented a gift to the then Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny.
