Meat rolls in cream sauce for lunch: how to prepare classic Ukrainian kruchenyky in a new way
Kruchenyky is a traditional Ukrainian dish that is often prepared for various celebrations. The recipe is quite simple: you wrap a delicious filling in meat slices (you can use lard or roast), fry, and then stew. It is also a good idea to add cream sauce for juiciness - the taste will pleasantly surprise you.
The idea of cooking meat rolls in a cream sauce for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Maryna Frolova. It goes perfectly with mashed potatoes or any other side dish.
Ingredients:
- pork fillet - 800-100 g
- large onion - 2 pcs
- carrots - 4 pcs
- cream or sour cream - 200 ml
- water - 60 ml
- hard cheese - 150 g
- greens
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the meat and pound on both sides.
2. Chop the onion (not too finely) and grate the carrot.
3. Fry in vegetable oil until soft.
4. Put the filling on top of the meat and roll up.
5. Pour flour into a bowl.
6. Dip the rolls in flour and fry on both sides until golden brown.
7. Transfer to a baking sheet or glass dish.
8. Dilute cream with water and salt and pour over the rolls.
9. Cover the baking sheet with foil, pinching the edges.
10. Bake at 200 degrees for one hour.
11. Open the foil, sprinkle the rolls with greens and hard grated cheese, and bake for another 5 minutes.
