Malta is an island nation on the eponymous archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. It has risen sharply in the ranking of the most popular tourist destinations. Malta offers a clean sea, a warm climate, numerous resorts, unique architectural, and historical monuments.

First of all, experts advise visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Hal Saflieni, Valletta, and the megalithic temples of Malta, which are among the oldest single-stone structures in the world. The details were reported by the Mirror.

A study conducted by Uswitch.com showed that the capital of Malta has the most predictable weather all year round, making it a safe destination for tourists who want to forget about the winter gloom and enjoy the sun.

The central square of Malta's capital, Valletta, divides the city in two, ending at Fort St. Elmo, where a military museum has been set up. The buildings in the central part of Valletta are a striking example of the Southern European style. The city gate leads to the Freedom Square, opposite which is the Palazzo Ferreria, an example of Italian classical architecture, where the armory of the knights used to be. A little further you can see the building of the Royal Opera House.

The modern National Museum of Archaeology, the Auberge de Provence building, was once the center of Malta's social life – the Union Club. On Palace Square is the Grandmaster's Palace, built between 1570 and 1580. It is now the residence of the President and Parliament of the Republic of Malta, and some of the palace's halls are open to the public.

Valletta is home to the only university in the whole country, founded in 1769, which is internationally recognized for the quality of medical education. The National Library, St. Paul's Cathedral, Church of Saint Catherine of Italy, and St. John's Cathedral are also worth a visit.

The best way to explore Malta is to rent an ATV. This way you can visit all the popular places, all the while contemplating the magnificent scenery. Another efficient way to get around Malta is with an electric scooter, which can usually be rented for a few euros.

You can go down to the famous St. Peter's pool to add some excitement and jump off the rocks with a group of friends. This area is popular with tourists, but it is worth noting the fact that it is a ten-minute drive from the less visited Marsaxlokk Harbor.

You can then head further north from St. Julian's and relax on the beaches of the Bay of Paradise, which boasts golden sands, picturesque views, and rocky coastlines.

On your way to the "Quiet City" of Mdina, don't miss the Il Majjistral Natural and Historical Park.

Pembroke Pool is the best place to enjoy warm evenings. Here, locals gather in small groups to watch the sunset.
