Lazy pita bread strudel with cherries and cottage cheese: a healthy and light dessert
If you want to make homemade pastries, but don't have the desire to work with dough, you should use pita bread. Thanks to this product, the kitchen will be filled with the incredible aroma of flaxseed strudel in a matter of minutes.
Chef Olha Riabenko shared how to make this quick but delicious dish on Instagram. She used cherries and cottage cheese as the filling.
Ingredients
- Pita bread – 2 pcs.
- Cottage cheese – 380 gr
- Egg – 1 pc
- Yolk – 1 pc
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
- Pitted cherries – 300 gr
- Sesame seeds – 2 tsp
Method of preparation
1. Mix cottage cheese with egg and sugar.
2. Put on pita bread and spread evenly.
3. If the cherries are frozen, defrost them and remove any excess liquid.
4. Roll two pita breads into a roll and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
5. Brush with egg yolk and garnish with sesame seeds.
6. Bake at 190 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
7. Allow to cool before cutting.
8. Serve with ice cream.
