"It wasn't like that": legendary British boxer names the main reason for Fury's defeat in the fight with Usyk

Lewis speaks out about Usyk-Fury fight

The legendary British boxer Lennox Lewis criticized the team of Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) for their actions during the fight with Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs). The former absolute world heavyweight champion expressed confidence that the Gypsy King needs to clean his corner.

Lewis said this in an interview with Boxing Social. According to the Briton, Fury was incorrectly informed about the course of the fight as his team was assuring the boxer that he was leading in the score. In addition, after a knockdown in the ninth round, Tyson's father asked him not to rush into an attack.

"Just too many voices in the corner really. He looked good for half the fight, he had to box because Usyk was very sharp. Tyson should clean his corner. As for me, the main man in his corner is trainer Sugar Hill. However, after the knockdown, John Fury insisted that Tyson take a break. They began to convince Tyson that he would only need the 12th round to win. And that wasn't like that. He needed a knockdown or even a knockout," Lewis said.
