In which region of Ukraine did most graduates fail math at NMT-2024
The largest number of 2024 graduates failed math at the National Multisubject test in Zakarpattia region – 15.9%. The applicants failed to overcome the threshold and score 100 points in the test. Thus, they lose the opportunity to enter higher education institutions this year.
This data was published by the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment on its official website. Chernivtsi region is second on the list with 14.6%. Zhytomyr region is on the third place with 14.4%.
Fourth place is shared by Chernihiv and Mykolaiv regions (14%), and Ivano-Frankivsk region (13.5%).
At the same time, 20.1% of applicants from Kirovohrad region in previous years did not pass the threshold score in math. 20% of applicants in Zakarpattia region failed the math exam. Cherkasy region took the third place, with 19.4% of applicants failing to pass the threshold score.
As a reminder, almost 10,000 graduates of the class of 2024 failed to pass the NMT and lost the opportunity to enter higher education institutions this year. In total, 234,321 students registered for the exam, and 224,565 applicants received their test results.
According to the data, during the main session of the NMT, the turnout of participants in Ukraine this year was 92.80%, while in 2023 it was 93.67%. During the additional period, 70.43% of participants took the exam in 2024, which is 11.72% less than last year.
In total, 287,781 entrants of 2024 and previous years were registered for the main session, and 1459 for the additional session.
