Soda helps to soften the water during washing, which makes the detergent you use more effective. The vinegar works as a natural and safe disinfectant, and it also effectively dissolves any stubborn dirt and whitens the fabric.

To harness the power of these two products, add half a cup of baking soda to the detergent compartment of your washing machine. The vinegar should be placed in the fabric softener tray. Next, select the normal program in which you wash your towels.

Another way to remove any traces of cosmetics from white towels is to soak them in a hot borax solution with a small amount of detergent. Dissolve 5 tablespoons of borax in 4 liters of hot water, add a little powder or gel, and put the towels in this liquid for several hours. After that, rinse them and wash them as usual.

In any case, if you want to get rid of traces of cosmetics on your towels, do not tumble dry them. Machine drying will only fix even the smallest remnants of cosmetic products in the fibers, and it will be much more difficult to wash them next time.
