Sometimes you want to go to a restaurant or cafe and order a glass of good wine with a delicious dinner. But in order not to spoil the impression of the evening, you should understand what kind of wine you can order and what to avoid.

Jonny Inglis, the founder of Winedrops.com, told Mirror how to recognize low-quality wine in a restaurant or cafe. He claims that you don't need to be a sommelier to do this.

After the waiter has brought the wine to the table, you should make sure that the vintage and vineyard are the same as what you ordered. Next, a very small amount of wine is poured into the glass, which you should smell and make sure is not spoiled. There should be no off-flavors or flavors in the drink.

Really good wine should smell like wet cardboard. This is an indication that the drink was well corked and properly stored. It should not contain vinegar odor. Its presence indicates oxidation occurring in the drink, as well as too much air that was present during storage.
