How to prepare the perfect omelet: soft and airy
Making an omelet often ends in disappointment. At best, you'll get ordinary scrambled eggs.
To prevent this, London chef Matthew Ryle posted a video on how he makes a perfect omelet every time with a wonderful runny center. He shared his secrets on his TikTok.
The trick is to stack the two parts of the omelet on top of each other while frying, gently poking it with a spatula, then tapping the pan handle and letting gravity do the rest.
He also emphasized the importance of using fresh eggs, which will also help in making the perfect omelet.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 5 g of herbs (tarragon, chervil, chives)
- salt and pepper
- 10 g of butter
Method of preparation
Whisk eggs with herbs and seasonings.
Add butter to a non-stick pan, heat to medium power and leave until lightly foamed. Add the eggs and mix with the back of a fork.
Once you have the consistency of scrambled eggs, beat most of the eggs to the top of the pan, leave to set, and then fold in.
Turn over onto a plate and brush the hot omelet with cold butter.
