Switching to winter time can cause discomfort and sleep disturbances for many people. However, with the right approach, you can minimize the negative effects of this process.

To help your body easily adapt to the new regime, you should start preparing a few days before the change of clocks. One of the most effective ways is to gradually shift your sleep schedule, OBOZ.UA reports. In particular, it is recommended to go to bed 15-20 minutes earlier than usual every day.

Prohibitions and tips

It is also important to reduce physical and emotional stress. Avoid strenuous exercise and stressful situations. Calming practices, such as meditation, yoga, or simply walking in the fresh air, will help you relax and rejuvenate.

Proper nutrition also plays an important role. You should limit your intake of fatty, fried foods and alcohol. Give preference to light meals rich in vitamins and minerals. Don't forget to drink enough water.

To ensure quality sleep, it is necessary to create comfortable conditions in the bedroom. Ventilate the room regularly, use a comfortable mattress and pillow. An hour before bedtime, stop using gadgets.

Why do we change our clocks?

The practice of changing clocks was introduced to save energy. However, studies have shown that the effectiveness of this measure is rather questionable. Moreover, daylight saving time can have a negative impact on people's health, causing sleep disturbances, decreased performance, and increased risk of various diseases.

Many countries around the world have already abandoned the practice of changing clocks, as its disadvantages outweigh its advantages. Ukraine is also considering the issue of abolishing daylight saving time, as OBOZ.UA has already reported.
