How to prepare delicious liver pancake cake without mayonnaise: a dietary version of the popular dish
Classic liver pancake cake is a rather high-calorie dish. That's because it contains mayonnaise. But if you are a fan of a more dietary menu, you will definitely like the following recipe.
The idea of making a diet liver pancake cake without mayonnaise and extra calories was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Viktoria Korolivska (korolivska1). This dish also looks quite appetizing.
Ingredients for liver pancakes:
- chicken liver - 300 g
- chicken hearts - 150 g
- soy sauce - 50 g
- garlic - 2 cloves
- onion - 120 g
- carrots - 80 g
- butter (can be replaced with ghee) - 20 g
- egg - 1 pc
- buckwheat flour - 1 tbsp or psyllium
- salt and pepper - to taste
Ingredients for the filling:
- butter (or ghee) - 30 g
- onion - 250 g
- carrots - 170 g
- sweet potato - 200 g
- yogurt - 100 g
Method of preparation:
1. Pour soy sauce over the liver and rub with garlic.
2. Leave for several hours (better overnight).
3. When the time is up, add the egg and beat until smooth.
4. Add salt and buckwheat flour or psyllium.
5. Finely chop the hearts.
6. Fry the onions and carrots in a pan until soft.
7. Add the chopped hearts and sautéed vegetables to the liver and mix well.
8. Bake the sweet potatoes and mash them.
9. Add yogurt, sautéed vegetables and smoked paprika and mix well.
10. Fry pancakes in vegetable oil, cover, turn over and cook until golden brown.
11. Layer the cake: put a pancake, some filling, a pancake again, and so on, as many layers as you need.
12. Let the cake sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Then the taste will be even brighter.
