How to pack things for a two-week vacation with your family in your hand luggage. Life hack
Jenna Carr, a travel blogger and young mother from the UK who runs The Travel Mum TikTok and YouTube channel, showed how to save money on luggage while traveling. She presented a life hack that will help to fit all the family's clothes for a two-week vacation into a backpack and a suitcase for hand luggage. To do this, you need to pack things with a pump and a bag. Importantly, clothes and hygiene products should be taken only for a week, and then, if necessary, hand-wash the clothes.
According to the Daily Mail, Carr shares her secrets of traveling on a budget. In order not to take a lot of bags, the first thing you need to do is make a list of must-have items to take with you (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).
A small suitcase, which should be the same size as a carry-on bag, can fit just over 60 items for three people. The British woman took a few T-shirts, socks, underwear, a swimsuit, shorts, jeans to wear to the airport, three casual dresses and one evening dress. She took a jumper and two overalls for her child, and pants and two business shirts for her husband to wear out.
Carr recommends taking flip-flops and versatile sandals or sneakers for long walks and evening outings. That is something that takes up less space. Preference should be given to black or neutral colors. This way, it will go well with most of your outfits.
To save space, the blogger rolls her clothes into a tube, dividing them into sections, for example, she puts T-shirts separately from shorts.
The rolls of clothes can be placed in a bag and vacuum-packed with a pump to make even more space in the suitcase.
In her husband's backpack, Carr puts digital devices and technology, cosmetics, wipes, and liquids in 100-milliliter containers. She advises taking only those hygiene products that would be difficult or expensive to replace upon arrival.
