How to deliciously bake chicken and potatoes in the oven: a versatile dish for lunch and dinner
Chicken and potatoes are the perfect combination for any occasion. The most convenient way to cook these products is in the oven. To prevent them from drying out, you should use a baking sleeve.
The idea of cooking juicy chicken thighs with potatoes in a sleeve was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olha Riabenko. Spices play a very important role here.
Ingredients:
- chicken thighs – 4 pcs
- potatoes – 1 kg
- onion – 2 pcs
- fresh pepper – 1 pc
- garlic – 4 cloves
- medium tomato – 1 pc
- greens – 1 bunch
- water – 200 ml
- oil – 3 tbsp
- honey – 1 tbsp
- mustard – 3 tsp
- soy sauce – 3 tbsp
- paprika – 1 tsp
- thyme – 1 tsp
- orange juice – 50 ml
- salt and pepper – to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Rub the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, and fry in a preheated frying pan in vegetable oil until golden brown. Set aside.
2. In the same pan, fry the diced potatoes together with the onion, cut into half rings, until lightly golden.
3. Add the chopped peppers, onion, garlic, tomatoes, and herbs to the blender bowl.
4. Pour in the water, oil, honey, mustard, soy sauce, thyme, paprika, orange juice and pepper. And add salt if necessary.
5. Whisk until smooth.
6. Put the fried thighs and potatoes in the baking sleeve and pour the prepared sauce over them.
7. Tie the sleeve, mix the contents, and place on a baking sheet. Press the sleeve so that the meat is on top of the potatoes. Bake in a preheated 180°C oven for 1.5 hours.
8. Cut the sleeve and put it back in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes.
9. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped herbs as desired.
