How to cook liver so it doesn't get bitter: a delicious recipe with apples

Many housewives refuse to cook liver because of its specific bitter taste. To get rid of it, you need to make a lot of effort and follow the recipe exactly. Only then will you get a really tasty and not bitter main course.

However, a food blogger with the nickname marina frolova on Instagram told us how to cook liver without bitterness without putting in much effort. As it turns out, you'll need apples for this.

Ingredients:

  • Flour - 100 gr
  • Nutmeg - ¼ tsp
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chicken liver - 500 gr
  • Cognac - 2 tbsp
  • Green hard apples - 2-3 pcs
  • Blue onion - 2 pcs
  • Brown sugar - 2 tbsp
  • Butter - 50 gr
  • Oil

Method of preparation:

1. In a bowl with flour, add nutmeg, salt, and pepper and mix well.

2. Roll the cleaned liver from the films in flour and fry in a frying pan until golden brown. The main thing is not to overcook. The liver should remain pink inside.

3. Pour the cognac over the liver and cook for another 2 minutes. Ideally, if you have a kitchen burner at home, then light the cognac and flambé the liver.

4. Cut the apples into 8 pieces and the blue onion into 4 pieces, put them in a frying pan, add the brown sugar and butter, and caramelize until golden brown.

5. Combine the apples and onions with the liver.
