Highest Happiness Index: Best Country to Relocate to After Retirement Named
In the Western world, retirement is no longer considered a bad thing. People work their whole lives to afford to move to a country they like and have an interesting vacation.
Moreover, researchers have already begun to compile rankings of countries where people will feel best in retirement. The British newspaper Express has published a new list.
It was compiled by experts from the real estate platform We Buy Any Home. They examined 30 popular retirement destinations around the world. The study took into account such factors as the cost of renting a home, the purchase price of residential premises per square meter, and mortgage interest rates. The ranking also took into account the World Happiness Report scores.
According to the results of the calculations, Finland took the first place on the list. Its performance is impressive. The Nordic country has the highest happiness index. It also ranks fourth in the ranking of citizens' health and boasts a low level of environmental pollution.
Finland, also called the Land of a Thousand Lakes, scored a total of 100 points. The country's strong economy, natural beauty, and low crime rate make it an attractive option for retirees.
At the same time, about three-quarters of the country's population speaks English. So it will be possible to move here even without knowledge of the Finnish language.
Tropical Malaysia took second place in the ranking. The country received high scores due to affordable housing prices. In total, the country scored 96.1 points. Belgium, which finished with a score of 95.7, was just behind Malaysia.
In general, the top 10 countries for retirement are as follows:
