He was in intensive care: Russians killed a little boy in a strike on Okhmatdyt
On Wednesday, July 10, a little boy died in a Kyiv hospital. At the time of the missile strike, he was in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Okhmatdyt.
This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Health Viktor Liashko. The boy was transported to a hospital in Kyiv after the missile attack.
"Unfortunately, we have the first child victim among the patients who were in the Okhmatdyt National Specialized Hospital during the July 8 terrorist attack. A little boy died, who was in critical condition in the intensive care unit of the Okhmatdyt hospital at the time of the missile attack," the official wrote on Facebook.
He expressed his condolences to the kid's family.
"We will never forgive Russian terrorists who kill our children," Liashko emphasized.
As a reminder, on Monday, July 8, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and other cities came under attack.
In total, dozens of people, including four children, were killed in Russia's morning attack on Ukraine. About 200 civilians were wounded.
In Kyiv alone, more than 30 people were killed, including 4 children, 120 people were injured, including 10 children, and 11 people were rescued.
In total, almost 100 objects were damaged: the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, residential buildings, kindergartens, a maternity hospital, a college, and a business center.
The Russian strike on the country's largest children's hospital, where nearly 630 children were being treated and undergoing major surgeries at the time of the attack, caused the destruction of the toxicology department building and serious damage to four other buildings, including the new hospital building that opened in 2021.
The Security Service of Ukraine showed the wreckage of the building and the serial numbers of a Russian X-101 missile found at the site of the attack. The fact that Russia was responsible for the deliberate attack on Okhmatdyt was confirmed by numerous OSINT investigators and missile experts, and Bellingcat also published its evidence. Even the United Nations made a statement that it was "highly likely" that Okhmatdyt was hit by a direct hit from a Russian missile. The Molfar community identified 95 Russian soldiers involved in the shelling of Okhmatdyt.
However, Russia continues to cynically lie that the destruction of the hospital was caused by "anti-missiles " from Ukrainian air defense. Such statements were made, in particular, by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, and the same lies and accusations against Ukraine were repeated by Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on July 9.
