England, Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia played in Group C
For the first time in the history of the European Football Championships, the rankings determined the places of the national teams in the standings, reports Suspilne. A unique situation occurred in Group C, where Denmark and Slovenia fought for second place.
The national teams scored exactly the same number of points in all indicators (points, head-to-head meetings, goal difference, number of goals scored and fair play).
As a result, the second place in Quartet C went to the team with the highest European rating based on the results of the Euro 2024 qualification. This team was Denmark (9th place). Slovenia (15th) dropped to third place.
