Delicious and puffy gingerbread cookies for Christmas: the simplest recipe

Gingerbread is a pastry that creates an incredible holiday atmosphere and gives a feeling of comfort and warmth. That is why it is customary to make gingerbread cookies on St. Nicholas Day and Christmas yourself.

Chef Olha Martynovska shared a recipe for gingerbread cookies on Instagram. She claims that the pastries are incredibly tasty and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • butter - 100 g
  • honey - 4 tbsp
  • eggs - 2 pcs
  • sugar - 200 g
  • milk - 4 tbsp
  • vanilla sugar - to taste
  • cinnamon
  • orange zest - to taste
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • milk - 4 tbsp
  • flour - 4 cups

Method of preparation

1. Combine butter, honey, sugar, eggs and milk in a saucepan and heat until smooth.

2. Remove from heat, add 2 tsp of baking soda, 4 cups of flour, zest, cinnamon and vanilla sugar.

3. Wrap the dough in plastic film and set aside for 20 minutes.

4. Roll out the 0.5 mm thick dough and cut out the cookies.

5. Bake at 180° for 10-15 minutes.

6. Sprinkle the cold cookies with powdered sugar.
