One of the traditional types of Christmas pastries is the Star pie. Not only does it have an unusually beautiful appearance, but it can also impress even the most demanding gourmets with its taste.

A food blogger with the nickname valerikiry showed how to make a Christmas Star pie without much effort on TikTok. You can use any filling to make it.

Ingredients

  • Milk - 240 ml
  • Yeast - 25 grams
  • Sugar - 120 gr
  • Eggs - 2 pcs
  • Butter - 60 gr
  • Flour - 570 g
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Thick jam

Method of preparation

1. Add 2 tbsp of sugar to the milk, add the yeast, add 5 tbsp of flour and mix. Put the dough under a towel in a warm place for 10 minutes.

2. Add all the remaining sugar to the dough, add eggs, melted butter (not hot), mix and add the sifted flour in parts. First, mix with a spatula, and then knead on the surface with your hands (the dough will stick to your hands a little) to make it easy to knead, you can grease your hands with oil or sprinkle the surface with flour. Put it in a warm place for 1 hour.

3. Knead the dough to get the air out and divide it into three equal parts. Form each part into a circle (the same size, you can use a plate for orientation).

4. Put the first part of the dough on the parchment (siliconized), grease it with jam, put the dough on top again, jam and dough again.

5. Put a small plate in the middle and make cuts from it, first 4 cuts opposite each other. Then make 2 cuts in each area that has been created. The total number of cuts is 12.

6. Take two petals of dough lying side by side and twist them toward each other. You need to make 2 turns and connect the edges together.

7. Brush the pie with egg yolk (1 egg yolk + 2 tbsp of milk).

8. Put it in the oven preheated to 190 degrees for 20 minutes.
