Children's cinema in the AN-10 airplane

In the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv in the 1980s, there was a unique children's cinema called "Orliatko." It was located in an An-10 airplane that once stood on Sevastopol Square.

The old photos were published on the Telegram channel of the Kyiv Historical community. Unfortunately, it has not survived to this day.

"The 'Orliatko' Children's Cinema in an AN-10 airplane on Sevastopol Square. 1980s," the post reads.

The photos posted on social media show what the favorite vacation spot for children used to look like.

According to the "Kyiv from the Past to the Future" portal, unfortunately, the cinema stopped working in the late 1980s, and the plane itself was in poor condition. In November 1993, it was set on fire. In the spring of 1994, the airplane monument was dismantled and transported to Zhuliany, where it was later disposed of.

In Kyiv in the 1970s, the water level in the Dnipro was very low. As a result, large shoals could be seen between the islands located between the left and right banks of the city.

Kyiv has always attracted tourists with its architecture and a large number of trees. In the fall, the city turned into an artist's palette, which was captured by a photographer's camera in the 1970s.
