Kostyshyn and Stashenko portrayed lovers on the screen, but barely greeted each other in real life

The popular Ukrainian actor Kostiantyn Kostyshyn, who starred in the TV series The Return of Mukhtar for ten years, admitted that he only briefly greeted some of his colleagues off the set. In particular, with the Russian actress Oksana Stashenko, with whom he portrayed a couple in love.

The actor told about this in an interview with OBOZ.UA. "The Return of Mukhtar was filmed in Kyiv. Like many projects of that time, it was broadcast in two countries. In Russia, it was shown on NTV, and in Ukraine, on Inter, 1+1, and STB.

"For ten years, I went to work," Kostyshyn recalls of the filming, "Sometimes I even joked during rehearsals in the theater. When the phone rang and I realized that it was from Mukhtar, I would say loudly: "Oh, it's about work!" Everyone would laugh."

The actor says that during this time, he developed friendly relations with the crew: "I was friends with everyone, even with my partner Oksana Stashenko, who later turned out to be you know who (the actress publicly supported the Kremlin's aggression against Ukraine - Ed.) She even came to visit us at home. Did I feel that Oksana would eventually tell nonsense about Ukraine? I realized what she was really like a little later."

Kostyshyn says that they didn't talk about politics on the set, but he recalls one incident involving the same cheerleader Stashenko: "I remember that before Putin's next election, she was very worried that the filming would not take too long and she would be in time to vote. "Who else but him?" she said, commenting on her choice. "And then Euromaidan began, and I felt tension in our relationship because I openly supported the confrontation against the then government.

Kostyshyn also recalled a conflict with Russian actors on the set, after which he and Stashenko only greeted each other when they met: "Once, sitting in the dressing room, I read on the Internet that Russians had entered Crimea. And we were sitting next to the Russian actor Liosha Moiseev. I showed him the article. I said: "Liosha, tell me: what is this? How is it?" And we started to have a loud argument. And across the wall was Stashenko's dressing room. When we came out, I heard her discussing something unhappily and mentioning my name. Kostyshyn - this and that... She continued even when she saw me. Something like we are nothing without them... "We give you money, that's why this series is being filmed. At what cost did you build the house?" - this is how it started.

"I built the house with the money I earned. I didn't get it for nothing - it wasn't given to me, brought to me, or given as a gift. I earned it. And I was paid much less for my work than Russian actors, by the way. I told her this. And he added: "And Russian producers shoot in Kyiv because it's cheaper." Since then, we have stopped communicating with her," Konstantyn recalls.

According to the Ukrainian actor, he kept in touch with Oleksii Moisieiev for a while, but not for long: "When he came to Belarus (and we were filming there for a while) in a car with a St. George's ribbon on it, he stopped getting into the car with him. He explained why."

Later, Kostyshyn refused to work on The Return of Mukhtar: "I called the producer and said that I didn't think it was appropriate for me to participate in this project because of what was happening to my country. And then, so that it wouldn't remain only in words, I wrote another text, I think on Viber. I got a reply that they understood everything. That's where we parted ways. "Mukhtar was over for me."
