Apple is preparing to launch new, cheaper models of iPad tablets. The novelty should hit the market in early 2025.

This was reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. According to him, during the spring cycle, the Cupertino-based tech giant intends to release a whole list of new products, including the updated iPhone SE, new iPad Air models, and iPad keyboards. In addition, the release of the 11th generation entry-level iPad should fall within the same window. Currently, these models are codenamed J481 and J482 and not much is known about them - insiders are in no hurry to share details.

The new tablets are expected to have an improved chip. At least, this is hinted at by the release of an updated iPad mini earlier this month that can support Apple Intelligence. The architecture of this novelty is based on the Apple A17 Pro chip capable of working with artificial intelligence. Analysts expect that the new product will have the same chipset. At least, they do not predict that the new low-cost iPad will run on Apple A18.

As for the design, the tablets to be presented by Apple in the spring will have the same look as the lineup released in 2022. Their price should remain low. The starting price is expected to be $350-400.

Gurman also said that Apple is also preparing an update of the iPad Pro model. It should work on the M5 chip. The journalist predicted its release in late 2025 or early 2026.
