Nicholas Sparks is a popular American writer, and author of the international bestsellers The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, Safe Harbor, The Best of Me, The Choice, and The Last Song. Film adaptations of Sparks's novels traditionally have high box office receipts and ratings.
The new bestseller "Counting Miracles" will be filmed at Amazon MGM Studios starring Alan Richson. The details were revealed by Variety.
Film adaptation of Sparks' book
The book was published by Random House. The premiere took place recently on September 24. The novel has already taken the first place on the New York Times bestseller list, becoming the author's 20th book to hit the top of the chart.
Alan Richson, who will star in the film adaptation of Counting Miracles thanks to his acting deal with Amazon MGM Studios, will produce the project under his AllyCat Entertainment banner. Also working on the film will be Dan Spilo of Industry Entertainment and Denise Di Novi of Di Novi Pictures, who previously produced the adaptations of The Best of Me, Nights at Rodanthe, and A Memorable Walk.
Best known for his starring role in the popular action drama Reacher, which will have its third season in 2025, Richson is currently starring in Netflix's sci-fi action movie War Machine. Next up, Richson will appear in Amazon Prime Video's holiday family comedy The Man with the Bag alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. He will also play the role of Ames in the 11th installment of Universal Pictures' Fast and Furious franchise.
According to the plot, Tanner Hughes (Richson) returns to his small hometown with one mission: to find the father he never knew. While there, he meets a doctor, Caitlin Cooper, who is balancing her life as a single mother and a lonely old man with a mysterious past.
Meanwhile, nearby, 83-year-old Jasper lives alone in a cabin on the edge of a national forest. He becomes obsessed with protecting deer from poachers.
As the fates of these characters turn closer together, none of them expects a miracle – but it may be exactly what will change their future forever.
