His childhood

Alain Delon grew up near Paris with his mother, who divorced his father when their son was three years old. His behavior upset his parents and teachers. The teenager grew up to be a defiant rebel, and he was even expelled from school.

Eventually, the parents decided that they did not have time to raise their son, so they gave him to a nurse. The future star spent several happy years in a foster home.

Before discovering his acting talent, the artist tried to become a butcher like his stepfather, served in the French Marines, and earned his living as a waiter, receptionist, and salesman.
