NASA astronaut Don Pettit has created a "Jupiter-like planet" on the International Space Station (ISS). Using water and food coloring, he managed to make a multicolored ball that shines incredibly bright.

Pettit wrote about his creation on his own page on the X network. The astronaut emphasized that he is ready to continue experimenting in his free time on the ISS, Space.com reports.

Don Pettit often shares his vivid photos taken from the dome of the space station on the web. This time, however, the astronaut decided to surprise his followers with something new.

"Since Halloween is coming up, I'm going to make a Jack-o'-lantern as well," Pettit wrote in his post on X.

Astronauts who stay in space for a long time try to find at least some entertainment around them. By the way, water drops are popular game elements on the ISS because they form spheres instead of drops. Since the orbital complex is in constant free fall, astronauts experience microgravity, and everything around them, including water, floats, experts say.
