"A hangover in full swing": Zakharova threw a tantrum over Russia's suspension from the IOC and was harshly mocked online
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) decision to suspend the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) is leading to "corrosion of the entire world sport." The diplomat is convinced that the IOC does everything solely under pressure from Washington.
"The double standards and deliberate segregation based on nationality by the IOC leadership are blatant infringements on the rights of Russian athletes, and ultimately a violation of basic human rights," Zakharova hysterically stated.
The Russian Foreign Ministry representative accused the IOC of political bias, promising to "use the necessary international legal instruments to defend the rights of domestic athletes, establish mutually respectful communication, and bring peoples closer together."
Zakharova's pathetic speeches provoked gloating comments from Russian fans.
The 47-year-old official is reminded of her alcohol addiction, calling her statements "verbal diarrhea."
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, the IOC reacted to the illegal inclusion of Olympic councils from the occupied territories of Ukraine in the ROC by suspending Russia from the IOC.
