Eko Essuman (20-1, 8 KOs), fighting for Great Britain, created a huge sensation at the boxing night in Birmingham. In the ring of the Resorts World Arena, the 35-year-old native of Botswana inflicted the first defeat of his career on the WBO European welterweight champion Owen Cooper (10-1, 4 KOs).

The fight was enchanting. Already in the 6th round, Cooper could not withstand the pressure of his compatriot and was forced to take a knee. By the 9th three minutes, he was able to recover and knock Essuman out with a powerful punch to the jaw.

However, instead of building on his success, Owen missed a fatal hook in the 10th round. Cooper staggered back. Esuman rushed in for the kill and knocked out the champion with a few punches.

The fight itself took place in the fall of 2023, but in the summer of 2024, the video of the fight took on a new life, garnering one and a half million views.
