In Lviv, students of a gymnasium set a record by holding an English lesson lasting 96 hours and 41 seconds. The lesson, which was broadcast online on five social networks, began on August 28 and ended on September 1.

Lana Vetrova, the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, announced the record on Facebook. About 35 thousand viewers watched the marathon.

The official noted that it will take a while for someone to break this record, Ukrinform reports.

"Today we announced the record for the longest online English lesson, which lasted 96 hours and 41 seconds. I'm sure that it won't be long before someone will be able to break this record. But the main thing is that this online lesson provided very high-quality knowledge. Even at night and during air raids, we were watching to see if this marathon would be interrupted, but no – the teachers worked at full capacity," said Vetrova.

Anyone of any age could join the lessons and go from A0 to C1.

The teachers of the educational institution that conducted the classes noted that many students and staff members are at the front, so one of the goals of the record was to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and raise UAH 3 million.
