In total, since the beginning of this year, 120 children from Kherson region have been returned to the government-controlled territory.
The team of the volunteer organization Save Ukraine managed to return 14 children to the territory controlled by Ukraine. All of them were in Russia and the TOT .
This was reported by the head of the charitable organization Save Ukraine Mykola Kuleba. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of Kherson RMA, 12 children were abducted in the Kherson region.
"Three boys and nine girls aged 2 to 17, one of them deprived of parental care, were taken from the temporarily occupied Kherson region. The charitable organization Save Ukraine managed to rescue the children," Prokudin said.
The RMA head added that since the beginning of this year, 120 children have been returned to the government-controlled territory from the Kherson region. In total, the Save Ukraine team has already returned 373 children who were deported or were under occupation to Ukraine.
"The stories we hear from these children are always heartbreaking. Teenage girls Alisa and Milana told us how Russian tanks shelled their homes. They and their families were forced to hide for a long time and even sleep in damp basements. In front of the children's eyes, Russian special services conducted searches, as well as interrogated, humiliated and threatened their parents for not having Russian documents in every possible way," Mykola Kuleba wrote.
