Why zamioculcas grows poorly: two gross mistakes

Zamioculcas is a popular houseplant, also called the dollar tree. With proper care, the ornamental crop grows up to a meter tall, but flowers rarely appear, resembling ears of milk or pink corn in appearance.

If your zamioculcas has stopped growing, you need to change your approach to growing the plant. OBOZ.UA has collected effective tips that will help you cope with this.

First, pay attention to the pot in which the plant is planted. It must have large drainage holes. A container with a single hole in the center will not work and will inhibit the growth of the flowerpot.

The development of the culture also depends on the size of the pot. It should be two fingers wider than the roots. In a pot that is too large, the plant will grow roots, not leaves, and the flowerpot will grow slowly.

Zamioculcas needs to be provided with favorable conditions for growth. It is a heat-loving plant, so in winter it will be comfortable at temperatures of +15... +18 °C. Excessive moisture can lead to the death of the flowerpot. The water should be warm and preferably free of all kinds of impurities, that is, settled.

The culture needs fertilization only during the growing season. The most optimal is the alternation of mineral and organic fertilizers.
