What seedlings to sow in January: what vegetables and flowers

January is the best time to sow seedlings for an early harvest. Experienced gardeners are already preparing seeds that take a long time to germinate in order to harvest fruits in early summer.

OBOZ.UA found out what vegetables and flowers should be planted for seedlings in January. If you haven't decided yet, choose from the list below.

You don't need a greenhouse to grow seedlings. It is enough to find a small place in your apartment or house where you can put containers with seeds. This will be enough to provide yourself and your family with seedlings of vegetables and flowers.

In January, you can choose seeds of the following crops:

• root celery
• bell pepper
• eggplant
• potatoes
• tomatoes
• parsley;
• green onions.

If you want to have flower seedlings in the spring, you can choose both annual and perennial crops.

Flower seeds for seedlings:

• antirynum (snapdragon);
• begonia
• carnation
• eustoma
• lobelia;
• petunia.

The main thing is to provide the seedlings with favorable conditions for growth, but if the seedlings begin to wither, don't worry, they can still be saved. OBOZ.UA has found a life-saving way.

You can revive wilted seedlings with a homemade fertilizer. Mix 50 grams of dry baker's yeast with one tablespoon of sugar. Then add five liters of water and mix everything thoroughly again. Leave the solution for two days.

During this time, the yeast will begin to ferment and release nitrogen, vitamins, and some other minerals necessary for plants. When the liquid is infused, add another 5 liters of water and mix well. The fertilizer for irrigation is ready.

Apply the resulting nutrient liquid under the seedlings in a small amount.
