Two more commanders of Russian occupiers sentenced in Ukraine

Ukraine has convicted two Russian occupiers who commanded the seizure of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station and the blowing up of the North Crimean Canal. Both commanders of the invaders were sentenced to 12 years in prison, and measures are currently being taken to bring them to justice.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine. These are the Deputy Commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet for Logistics, Major General Mikhail Yasnikov, and the Commander of the 11th Separate Engineer Brigade, Colonel Dmitry Markov.

These two war criminals are involved in the destruction of key life support facilities in the Kherson region. SBU officers managed to collect evidence against them.

It was established that Yasnikov ordered the Russian military to illegally seize critical infrastructure in the region, and Markov supervised the explosions.

"The criminal actions of the occupiers disrupted the region's water supply, the functioning of its irrigation system, and caused significant environmental damage and material damage to Ukraine on a particularly large scale," the statement said.

The court found Yasnikov and Markov guilty under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war) and sentenced them to 12 years in prison. The general and colonel are currently in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, so the sentence will start from the day of their actual detention.

Comprehensive measures are currently underway to bring the perpetrators to justice for crimes against Ukraine, the SBU stressed.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the SBU collected evidence against Lieutenant General Andriy Ruzynsky, commander of the 11th Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet of the Western Military District of the Russian Federation. At the beginning of the war, the war criminal ordered his subordinates to break through the state border of Ukraine to seize Kharkiv region.
