Denis Rogachev, deputy secretary general of the Russian Football Union (RFU), told the propaganda news agency TASS. According to him, the national team of coach Valerii Karpin can really take part in the CAFA-2023 championship, as serious rivals do not want to play with them.

"The national team's activities are not frozen. It has suffered greatly, we do not feel the flow of people willing to play with us. This is a very difficult negotiation process, we are negotiating participation in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship in June. We have retained our corporate rights to participate in FIFA and UEFA, but we are negotiating with our colleagues about a phased return to the competition," Rogachev said.

It should be noted that the Russian national team will play a friendly match in Iran on March 23 and then take on Iraq in St. Petersburg on March 26. UEFA has already responded to Russia's decision to play in the championship CAFA-2023.
