The Economic Court of Kyiv recognized as lawful the termination of the contract between the monastery of the UOC-MP and the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra". The session was held on Wednesday, August 9.

This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of culture and information policy of Ukraine. Monks of the Moscow patriarchate had to leave the territory of the Lavra even before July 4.

"Today the Economic court of the city of Kyiv recognized legal termination of the contract concluded between the Holy Assumption Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Male Monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra". We are talking about the premises of the Lower Lavra", - emphasized in the press service.

The Ministry explained that the court has refused to satisfy the claims of the Holy Assumption Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra by its decision. The Moscow patriarchate further wanted to use the buildings and other property of the Reserve, which is state property.

"Thus, the court confirmed the legality of the termination of the contract on the part of the Reserve", - emphasized in the Ministry of the Ministry.

We will remind, earlier the Ministry of culture and information policy of Ukraine decided to unilaterally terminate the contract with the men's monastery of the Holy Assumption Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The monks of the UOC-MP had to leave the Lavra's territory by July 4.
