SBU exposes ex-rector of UOC-MP church who blessed occupants

In the Kharkiv region, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the rector of a church of the Izyum Diocese of the UOC (MP), who supported the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. In particular, the traitor blessed the Russian occupiers and consecrated their columns of military equipment in the Kupiansk district.

This was reported in the SBU Telegram. It is noted that this process took place during a staged church procession organised by the priest on the occasion of the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus during the occupation of part of the Kharkiv region. He tried to involve local residents in the event.

According to law enforcement officers, during the de-occupation, the traitor and his family fled to Russia, where he was appointed rector of the Orthodox parish of St John the Baptist Church of the Tver and Kashin Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Criminal proceedings were initiated over this fact under Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

Recall: On April 1, the SBU also served a notice of suspicion on the former abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel (real name: Petro Lebed), known by the nickname "Mercedes". He is charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: 161 (incitement to inter-religious hatred) and 436 (justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation).

Pavel has already been imposed a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest for 60 days with the wearing of an electronic bracelet.

During this time, the priest must stay in his home in the village of Voronkiv, Kyiv region. He has already complained, saying that it is allegedly impossible to live there.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported:

- The SBU detained a resident of Kramatorsk who was an accomplice of the occupiers. She was guiding Russian missiles at hospitals and dormitories in her hometown;

- The SBU has published records of telephone conversations of the former abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Pavlo, known as Pasha Mercedes. In the audio intercepts, he openly supported military aggression against Ukraine and insulted Ukraine's defenders.
