Russian Olympic champion says Russians are being bullied, throwing a tantrum over IOC decision

Two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov has thrown a new tantrum over the criteria for Russian athletes to be admitted to international competitions. The former hockey player and henchman of dictator Vladimir Putin suddenly remembered human rights and accused the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board of lawlessness, which recommended that all Russian athletes be banned from team tournaments.

Fetisov said this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta. The Stanley Cup winner complained that the IOC was allegedly mocking Russians, and also called the war in Ukraine a "conflict", which is happening in many parts of the world.

"It's a mockery, the arbitrariness continues. If such decisions are made by the IOC Executive Committee and there is no movement in the other direction, then this is a sad story. Everything is being violated - the principles of sport, the principles of the Olympic movement, human rights, the rights of an Olympic champion. Everything that has been built over centuries has come to naught. There are a lot of conflicts in the world, will there be more, and will a selective decision be made every time? I am disappointed," said Fetisov.

Recall that the IOC also recommended international federations to suspend from competitions Russian athletes related to the Russian army and security forces. After that, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to boycott tournaments with the participation of aggressors.

In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova blamed the West for all of Russia's crimes. Tatyana Navka, a traitor to Ukraine and wife of Dmitry Peskov, called the IOC's decision an attempt by the West to wipe Russia off the face of the earth.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the German publication BILD named top Russian athletes who do not exactly meet the IOC eligibility criteria. In turn, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called the IOC decision an abomination.
