Occupants prepare to block ZNPP workers at the plant

Russian war criminals at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant are preparing to blockade the personnel and hold them hostage. The occupiers have already brought supplies of food and water to the plant and are likely to simply not let people go after one of the shifts.

This was reported by the press service of NNEGC Energoatom. They reminded that the occupiers had already tried a similar trick at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when they closed the station shift at the Chernobyl NPP. Then the invaders did not let the station's staff go home for about a month, holding people hostage until the de-occupation.

According to Energoatom, the reason for the Russians' plans this time is probably the severe shortage of professional nuclear engineers needed to operate the plant and fears of a Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Earlier, the occupiers kidnapped four more employees of Zaporizhzhia NPP and took them to an unknown destination. All four people were considered loyal to the occupation management of the plant, they signed contracts with the fake Zaporizhzhia NPP Operating Organisation, but did not provide the occupiers with their Russian passports: either they did not receive them at all or they are carefully hiding them. Perhaps, this is to avoid being included in the list of collaborators after de-occupation.

In addition, the Russians are preparing a plan to "evacuate" the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the temporarily occupied city of Enerhodar. The collaborators have already been notified. They must provide a list of relatives and be ready to leave at the first signal.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported:

- Mayor of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia region Ivan Fedorov said that the occupiers had recruited unqualified personnel to the seized Zaporizhzhia NPP located in Enerhodar. Hunters and reindeer herders from Yakutia are now "guarding" the plant;

- On April 13, Energoatom reported that a mine of the Russian occupiers had exploded near the engine room of the 4th power unit at ZNPP. The invaders tried to quickly hide the traces so that the IAEA experts would not know what had happened.
