The American actress Laura Benanti reported that she had a miscarriage on stage when she was performing on a cruise ship in front of two thousand people. The star felt it because she had previously lost a child during pregnancy. Despite what happened, the artist continued to entertain the audience.

Benanti spoke about the tragic event on her personal Instagram page. She thanked people for being there for her at such a difficult time.

"On April 3, I was performing on stage in front of 2,000 people, and I had a miscarriage. I knew it was happening. It started the night before. If it had been our first loss or even our second, I most likely would not have been able to continue. But unfortunately, I am no stranger to the pain and emptiness of pregnancy loss. I have travelled this path before, hand in hand with my husband. But this time, we walked it alongside the kindest and most loving people I have ever had the privilege of sharing space with. Thank you to everyone in this audience for lifting me out of my sadness," the actress wrote.

Benanti showed a picture taken that day during the concert, when she realised she had miscarried.

The 43-year-old celebrity added that she and her husband are currently heartbroken, but they have been down this road before, so they know how to cope with grief.

"I'm not telling you all this to get sympathy or attention, but to remind the many people and families who are suffering in a similar way that there is no shame in such a loss. That you are not alone," the star summed up.

It is worth noting that Benanti was unable to carry a child for the first time in 2016. Then the couple turned to a surrogate mother for help, who gave birth to their daughter Ella in 2017.
