ISW: propagandists criticized the Russian Defense Ministry for lying about the attack on the bay in Novorossiysk
So-called Russian bloggers have accused the Russian Defence Ministry of lying about the attack by maritime drones on the bay in Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Region of the Russian Federation) that took place on 4 August. The propagandists believe that the terrorist state should set up a full-fledged monitoring system and cut off Ukraine's access to the Black Sea.
They complain that other tactics, such as strikes on Ukrainian port infrastructure, have not prevented an attack on Russian ships at sea. This is stated in an analysis by the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It is noted that "bloggers" pointed to the first false statement of the agency that Russian forces allegedly intercepted all drone strikes, instead of recognizing the damage to the landing ship Olenegorsk Miner.
In addition, the ministry was also criticized for previously spreading false information about the alleged destruction of Ukrainian drone assembly plants. The bloggers said that Russian forces should block Ukraine's access to the Black Sea to prevent maritime drone attacks from civilian ships.
As the analysts noted, some Russian "bloggers" believe that the Russian Defense Ministry does not have a consistent information policy, which creates conditions for public outcry in the Russian information space after each Russian military failure.
Explosions were heard in the harbor area of Novorossiysk on the morning of August 4,. The Defense Ministry of the aggressor country stated that the reason for this was the "attack of the AFU" on the naval base by drones, which "were destroyed." However, as it turned out, the large landing ship Olenegorsk Miner was hit during a night attack by naval drones. One of its compartments was flooded, causing the ship to capsize. It was towed to the shore by two ships.
It was later known that the operation in the bay of Novorossiysk was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine. The UAV that attacked the bay was carrying 450 kilograms of TNT. About 100 crew members were on board the Olenegorsk Miner.
As noted by sources in the SSU, the special operation was carried out together with the Navy. According to the results of the attack, the "Olenegorsk miner" received a serious breach and can not fulfill its combat missions no more. All the Russian statements about the "repulsed attack" are fake.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
- Russians were hysterical after the loud night and morning of August 4 in temporarily occupied Feodosia (Crimea) and Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation). It is noteworthy that the explanation of the events in both locations was issued by the Defense Ministry of the aggressor country only a few hours after the strikes. It stated that all "drones were destroyed" and "there were no destructions and victims." The Russians demanded to shell Ukraine again in response, as well as Britain, which had previously handed over naval drones to the AFU;
- Dictator Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on the drone attack on Novorossiysk. The Russian dictator's henchman redirected the issue to the Russian Defense Ministry.
