How to revive roses that wintered poorly: bushes will recover instantly
Garden roses can surprise flower lovers in the spring by starting to wither and gradually die. The reason is that the delicate plant doesn't always endure winter well. Cold weather and excessive humidity can cause significant damage to the bushes. However, you can revive a rose with a product available in any supermarket.
As OBOZREVATEL found out, it's vodka. Alcohol can stimulate the rose bush to grow. Simultaneously, it helps combat harmful bacteria in the soil around the plant and is detrimental to aphids—insects that are harmful to these flowers.
How to properly treat a rose bush with vodka? First of all, the plant needs preparation. The first step is to cut off all blackened shoots from the bush. You need to cut so that you reach the healthy tissue. All cuts should be treated with garden varnish.
The next step is to prepare a medicinal solution. To do this, take 2 glasses of vodka per 10 liters of water and mix everything thoroughly. Pour 3-4 liters of this solution under each rose bush. The procedure is repeated every 14 days.
Separately, a liquid is prepared for spraying roses from aphids. To make it, you need to take:
- 100 ml of vodka;
- 20 grams of laundry soap shavings;
- 1 liter of warm water.
All components must be thoroughly mixed and poured into the sprayer. The bushes should be treated with this solution either early in the morning or at sunset.
