How to get rid of salt marks on shoes: the best ways
In winter, especially in snowy and frosty weather, we often face such a problem as white spots on our shoes. Such marks are left by salt and other reagents that are sprinkled on roads to prevent ice. Some of it gets on your shoes, even if you don't walk very much, and these ugly streaks and stains appear.
Often people try to simply wash and clean them with standard shoe care products. But this is less effective than using the products that OBOZ.UA has collected in a special list.
Vinegar
White vinegar mixed with water perfectly and effortlessly removes traces of salt. Take both liquids in equal proportions and mix. Next, soak a soft cloth or cotton pad in this solution, twist it well so that the tool is not wet but damp, and wipe the stained area. The stain should disappear quickly. All that remains is to allow the surface of the shoe to dry and apply a care cream or protective spray.
Alcohol
Medical alcohol also removes traces of salt well. It should be applied with a soft tool in small amounts. It should not completely wet the material of the shoe. It is better to wipe the surface several times - the result will still be there. Alcohol is very effective against salt on shoes, the main thing is not to be in a hurry. After cleaning, dry such a pair away from heating appliances.
Lemon juice
Citric acid, like acetic acid, is good for removing salt from shoes. It should also be diluted in water. Squeeze half a lemon into a bowl, strain the juice to remove any remaining pulp, and add the same amount of water. The cleaning solution is ready. Apply it in the same way as vinegar, then steam dry and treat with a protective agent.
