How to get rid of ants in the garden: a foolproof spring method
Ants are certainly useful insects, but only if they don't get involved in the garden. The crop has to be protected from them. And the best season to prevent their appearance is early spring.
OBOZREVATEL has figured out what can be done to get rid of ants. You won't have to make much effort to do so.
If you don't get rid of ants in time, they can bring with them more harmful insects, such as aphids, which they "graze". Also, ants can eat young seedlings, spread fungal and bacterial plant diseases, spread weed seeds in the garden, dig anthills under garden plants and interfere with their growth, and eat sweet fruits. In general, they cannot be considered unambiguous pests, but still, many gardeners consider it necessary to keep them away from their plants.
You should start the ant treatment process with a thorough inspection of the garden as soon as it gets steadily warmer and the insects start to wake up. While they are still weak and have not had time to start breeding, and there is almost no greenery, ant nests can be detected quite easily.
Each nest found should be sprinkled with tobacco ash, trying to get into the passages. Ants cannot tolerate the smell of this product and will leave the contaminated area. If tobacco does not work, you can treat the nests with a suitable commercial insecticide.
