Google will start deleting accounts that have not been used for more than two years

The American company Google, which owns Alphabet, will begin deleting inactive accounts that have not been used for two years. This change will affect accounts and related data in such services as Gmail, Documents, Drive, Calendar, as well as YouTube and Google Photos.

This is reported by Reuters. The user will receive a warning message before deletion.

According to the company's announcement, if a Google account has not been used or visited for two years or more, it can be deleted along with the associated data in Google Workspace.

This policy change will affect accounts and data in services such as Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meetings, and Calendar, as well as YouTube and Google Photos. As a result, inactive accounts and related data will be deleted from the company's servers in order to optimize storage and ensure data security.

"Starting today, inactive accounts that are in danger of being deleted will receive warning messages from Google to the primary and backup email address of the account," the statement reads.

It is important to note that the changes affect only personal Google accounts, not the accounts of organizations, such as companies or universities. Google explains that such measures are taken to ensure data security and prevent possible threats, including possible hacks.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, in April, Google has turned off all payments from Russia. It is no longer possible to pay for the company's services with any type of card from Russia. In addition, a loophole in the form of payment from a cell phone account has been removed.
