Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk could not contain her emotions before the start of her match against Czech Republic's Marketa Vondroušová in the Billie Jean King Cup tournament. The 20-year-old from Kyiv, who came to defend the country's honour in the national team, burst into tears during the national anthem.

The corresponding video was posted on the Instagram page of the Ukrainian Tennis Association. Marta expressed her emotions against the backdrop of the military aggression that the Russian Federation continues to demonstrate against our country.

In the comments, fans supported Kostyuk, noting that Ukraine is currently going through the most serious test in its history. It is worth noting that the Kyiv player was unable to put up a serious fight against Vondrousova, losing in two games - 2:6, 1:6.

Dayana Yastremska, Lyudmyla Kichenok and Katarina Zavatska are also playing in the game against the Czech Republic under the guidance of coach Mykhailo Filima.
