Elon Musk announces sensational Twitter restrictions
Twitter has introduced a temporary limit on the number of tweets users can read per day. The innovation should prevent "extreme levels" of systemic manipulation.
This was stated by the company's owner Elon Musk. "To eliminate the extreme level of data collection and system manipulation, we have applied temporary restrictions," the statement said.
It is noted that verified accounts will be able to read 6,000 posts per day, unverified accounts - up to 600 posts per day, and new unverified accounts - up to 300 posts per day.
The announcement of the changes came the day after Twitter blocked access to the website on Friday for anyone who was not logged in as a registered user.
It remains unclear how long these "temporary" restrictions will remain in place.
Earlier, Elon Musk appointed Linda Yakkarino as the platform's new CEO. Previously, she was the head of advertising at NBCUniversal.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, after buying Twitter, Musk initiated a number of changes to the social network. In particular, he curtailed the development of the platform's own cryptocurrency wallet, paused the Revue newsletter and the Notes function (writing long texts).
