China's XPeng is preparing new cheap cars for cabs
Chinese automaker XPeng is preparing new low-cost vehicles for cabs. The company has acquired a division of Didi cab service in China and is now preparing new vehicles for it.
This is reported by China business law journal. The value of the transaction amounted to 744 million dollars. Now compact budget electric cars under the new brand Mona are preparing for Didi cabs.
It is known that the new Mona electric cars from XPeng will be extremely cheap with a price of about 20,000 dollars. There are no technical details about the cars.
However, it's easy to assume that cab business requires serious demands. First, an electric car must have a large range to cover trips for at least half a day. Fast and powerful charging can be a compromise.
Secondly, such a car must be practical. A roomy interior and a large trunk are a must. For this reason, a minivan may be useful as a cab, but such details have not been provided yet.
Earlier OBOZREVATEL spoke about the high sales results of affordable BYD electric cars from China.
