Making effective carp bait yourself is easy

Crucian carp is one of the most healthy species of river fish to eat. It is also an element of traditional Ukrainian cuisine, as it is found in large quantities in our country's water bodies. This makes it a desirable prey for fishermen. But what to feed the crucian carp before fishing?

Of course, you can buy ready-made bait in the store. But, of course, it will bring more pleasure to make your treat for the fish. OBOZREVATEL tells you about three recipes that will make crucian carp bite like crazy.

Millet with oilcake

To make bait according to this recipe, you will need:

  • millet - 1 cup;
  • fried ground cake - 1 cup;
  • water - 2 cups.

Pour water into a saucepan, bring it to a boil, add millet and stir it to distribute it evenly. When the water has evaporated and the cereal is cooked, pour the millet into a bowl for bait and add the oilcake. Mix the ingredients well and the fish treat is ready. If you are fishing with springs or want the bait to be less sticky, you can add less oilcake to it.

Pea and millet bait with sunflower seeds and breadcrumbs

This dish is considered a real delicacy by crucian carp, but you will have to try a little harder to prepare it. For cooking, you need to take the following ingredients in approximately equal proportions:

  • peas
  • millet
  • unroasted sunflower seeds;
  • breadcrumbs.

For the bait, mix dry breadcrumbs with sunflower seeds. Next, you need to cook peas and millet. Pour water over the peas and put them on the fire. After the water boils, they are boiled for about 15 minutes, and then millet is added. The mixture is allowed to cook over low heat for another 10 minutes, removed, strained from the water and mixed with the base.

Pea and millet bait with semolina

Another recipe based on a mixture of peas and millet, which is so popular with crucians. To prepare this bait, you need to take two parts of split peas and one part of millet. The peas are thrown into boiling water and cooked until tender. When they are almost cooked, add millet to the pot and keep it on the fire for another 4-5 minutes. After that, the resulting porridge is filtered, transferred to a bowl for feeding and mixed with semolina to the desired consistency.
