After the scandal with "face substitution" on STB postponed the show with Russian actors

Ukrainian TV channel STB postponed the screening of the series "The Last Letter of My Beloved" a few hours before the premiere, which was to be held today, March 27, at 20:00. On the eve of the network flared up a huge scandal around the TV production due to the fact that the authors of the project have replaced the face of Russian actor Prokhor Dubravina in it with the features of his Ukrainian colleague Dmitry Saransky using dipfake computer technology.

A number of Ukrainian actors, as well as viewers, openly condemned the channel, calling such a decision "shameful" and calling to prevent the broadcasting of the project, which involved actors from the aggressor country. However, on the day of the premiere, it was announced on the STB Instagram page that the series was postponed, without specifying a new date for the first episode.

"STB TV channel has decided to postpone the screening of the Ukrainian series "The Last Letter of the Beloved". The broadcaster will hold additional industry consultations to discuss and ratify the use of digital technology in content, including in view of international best practices," the announcement said.

However, this answer did not satisfy all viewers. A whole discussion broke out in the comments under the publication. Some Ukrainians wrote that during the destructive and murderous war with Russia, the series with the Russians should not be postponed, but canceled completely, despite the money and effort that was invested in it. Others believe that "saving" the product by any means is the right thing to do.

It is worth noting that Prokhor Dubravin, whose face and tried to "hide" behind the Ukrainian, did not condemn the criminal invasion of Ukraine, where he actively worked and earned, but instead supported the aggression of his country and the army of the occupants.
