A cargo ship left the waters of the Odesa port: Russia's threats for disrupting the "grain deal" were not successful
The second cargo vessel has already left the water area of the Odesa port. A temporary corridor for the export of goods is working after Russia's withdrawal from the "grain deal" and its threats to perceive merchant ships as a military threat,
This was reported by the head of the "Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies" project Andriy Klymenko on Facebook. The port of destination is specified as BG VAR VARNA. The expected time of arrival is August 27 at 13.00. It is known that the PRIMUS ship (ex. POLARSTAR) arrived in Odesa on August 20.
The first grain carrier JOSEPH SCHULTE left on August 16 and managed to reach its destination after the disruption of the grain deal within the framework of the temporary corridor in the Black Sea. Ukraine has declared temporary corridors in the Black Sea for merchant ships traveling to and from Ukrainian ports. Russia unilaterally withdrew from the Black Sea grain deal on July 17 and repeatedly attacked the port grain infrastructure afterwards.
Ukrainian farmers have faced serious problems after Russia withdrew from the grain agreement and launched massive attacks on Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea. Alternative export routes have proved too expensive for many businesses, and now farmers don't know how to sell their produce. This could leave the grain harvest from such farms to rot in warehouses or even in the fields.
This situation is already causing Ukrainian farmers to reduce their crops, analysts say. This year, the amount of corn and wheat in the fields has fallen by almost 40% compared to pre-war levels. The lives of people in starving countries depend on Ukrainian food.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Turkey urged to resume the grain agreement. They are sure that the Danube ports will not be able to replace the Black Sea in terms of food exports, because of which China and Africa will not get enough grain.
